What traditional dishes are available at El Jannah?
We’ve got both a Falafel Plate and Shawarma Meal available. Our Falafel Plate is packed full of crispy falafel, zesty salads, our signature pickles, and of course, our creamy dips. If your mouth isn’t already watering, then we’re concerned for you.
Chasing something different? Our Shawarma Meal features shawarma beef, tomatoes, parsley, onion, pickles, and Lebanese bread. We’re throwing it open to you on this one, as you can choose any sauce and drink as part of this deal. May we suggest our creamy Garlic Sauce?
Is El Jannah’s traditional menu Halal-certified?
All ingredients used in our Traditional Menu dishes are 100% Halal certified.
Where is the Shawarma Meal available?
Our Shawarma Meal is only available in NSW—we have to save something for where the El Jannah journey started. If you’re in another state, you’ll just have to come pay one of our NSW locations a visit.
Are there vegetarian options in the Traditional Menu?
For the vegetarians out there, our Falafel Plate is for you. Vegetarian-friendly and seriously delicious, get amongst the fun!
Can I customise my Falafel or Shawarma meal?
Of course you can! What would we be without showing off a little bit of traditional Lebanese hospitality? Whether you’re ordering in-store or online, you can adjust the Falafel and Shawarma meals to your liking, as well as adding extra sauces and salads for a truly authentic experience.
Can I order traditional meals for takeaway or delivery?
Our Falafel Plates and Shawarma Meals are available for both takeaway and delivery. You can either order via our website, or via your preferred food delivery app, for a traditional Lebanese feast that can be enjoyed at home.
What sauces and sides come with the traditional meals?
Our Traditional Menu meals come with sides and sauces, like our Garlic Sauce, tahini, fresh salads, pickles, and Lebanese bread. We’ve picked up on a thing or two over the years cooking with family, and we’ve put those years of studying family recipes into our Traditional Menu meals.
Are there gluten-free options available?
Our falafels don’t contain gluten, neither does our shawarma if you substitute the bread, however there still may be traces. You can visit our allergens chart for more information.

The simple answer is: no. We love walk-ins. So wander in when you and your friends and family are ready to share an El Jannah feast. We will do our absolute best to find you a seat at one of our tables so you can enjoy our legendary chicken and the rest, together.

We are getting asked this question a lot. It’s exciting times for us, with the El Jannah family of stores expanding in various hot locations, including Greater Sydney, Central Coast NSW, Newcastle, South Coast NSW, Canberra and Melbourne. Clearly Aussies have a big appetite for our cult-classic charcoal chicken and all the El Jannah extras.
What is the difference between takeaway, pick-up, and delivery?
You’ll grab your takeaway or pick-up orders in-store. Booked a charcoal chicken delivery? Just sit back and relax, we’ll run it over ASAP.
How do I find the nearest El Jannah for takeaway?
Check our store locator. It’s a lot easier than continuously searching “fried chicken takeaway near me” and hoping for the best. Well, it’s how you ended up here so we guess it’s kinda useful.
What time is delivery available?
Depends on the store. For example, we do fried and charcoal chicken delivery in Sydney as late as 11 p.m, seven days a week.
How long does it take to get my order?
Pick-up typically takes 10-15 minutes. If you’re craving charcoal chicken delivery near you, this depends on how busy the traffic is (and how busy we are).
Can I customise my takeaway or delivery order?
Absolutely! And trust us, you’ll want to add on some extra sides and sauces to get the full EJ experience. You’ve heard about our garlic sauce, right? What about our fattoush? Fattoush, fattoush! It’s fun to say and it’s damn delicious, too.
Are all El Jannah menu items available for delivery?
When you book a delivery, our full menu’s up for grabs, but we might run the odd store-only promotion. For the most part, though, if you’re after charcoal chicken near you, delivery’s a great option.
Can I pre-order my meal for a later pick-up?
You know it. You can even book it weeks in advance and set a specific time. All flexibility, no faff, just remember to pick it up or we’ll eat it for you.

Do I need any previous experience?
Although preferable, previous experience is not essential. The EJ way is all about finding the right people for the right role. When you join our team, you become part of the family.

Other than a keen and willing attitude? Just a few documents to ensure we can find the right fit for you within our EJ fam. Any of the following documents in their OG form is great:

How long is the interview?
How long is a piece of our legendary charcoal chicken? Just like our interviews, it varies. Some interviews will be one-on-one, typically up to 15 minutes long, whilst others can be conducted within a group setting, anywhere between 15 to 30 minutes. Either way, there’s no need to stress. You’ve got this!

How long in advance can I order catering?
You can plan your feast ahead of time with online orders available up to 7-days prior to your event. We don’t know if you’ll be able to wait that long though #IYKYK

Is there a minimum order quantity or spend for catering?
No, there is no minimum spend to order from our El Jannah Catering menu. You can enjoy an extra large feast yourself, or follow the El Jannah way and call your cousins! It’s time for a feast.

Can I order directly from the store for catering?
Our served and shared catering service is currently available through online only. For hungry numbers over 100, please get in touch, and one of our helpful EJ team members will be in contact with you faster than you can say “legendary charcoal chicken”.
Are plates and cutlery supplied by EJ?
No… But we’re making more room in your catering bag for good, large portions of your favourite food that’s meant to be shared. You’re welcome.
Can I pick and mix different menu items in my order?
You know it! Pick and mix to your heart’s content. The options from our Lebanese-Australian soul food menu are endless.
How much notice do I need to provide for my order?
We take catering orders up to 4pm the day before you feast. What a legendary team, right?!
Will you deliver the food to us?
To serve our cult-following far and wide, our catering menu is currently pick-up only. Delivery can be requested from selected stores only. Please contact your local EJ store directly to see if this option is available for you. Either way, our legendary charcoal chicken and famous garlic sauce is within reach.
Can I collect my order from any EJ store location?
El Jannah catering is currently available to order online, with pick up at our Newtown and Baulkham Hills stores currently in the works. Simply select one of these during the ordering process, and we’ll do the rest.
What payment options do you offer?
We take online payment of Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Apple Pay (you know we bring you options, so that you can enjoy your feast).
Can I cancel my order?
We know plans change, we’ve got you! To ensure none of our mouth-watering menu goes to waste, and we are able to process your refund in full, please ensure your catering order is cancelled at least 24 hours before your order is ready. Contact our Customer Service Team ASAP on 02 7908 5476.

How do I check serving sizes?
El Jannah makes it easy to find out how many legendary charcoal chicken’s, famous garlic sauce and fresh sides will feed your group. Simply look at the top of each menu item description and see our hungry feaster’s suggestion size… because good food and good portions should never be complicated.
Can I pay a deposit and pay the rest on collection?
To enjoy every last bite of our simple, soulful menu, payment needs to be made in full.
Is there going to be staff to help me put the food into my car?
The El Jannah family are always here and ready to help. One of our staff members will be happy to place those legendary goods in the car, upon request.
Is the food going to be hot when I collect it?
We like our food like we like our charcoal, HOT. Every catering order will feature the classic unique and adored flavour, fresh and hot to collect.
What if I need to modify/cancel my order after I’ve paid?
No need to feast any more? No worries. Simply contact our Customer Service Team ASAP on 1800 491 838, or call your catering store within 24 hours of your order pick-up and your delicious order will be cancelled, with a full refund issued to you via your initial payment method.
