Darn, I really wanted this to be a healthy option – but unfortunately, they use cottonseed oil and canola oil, which are highly inflammatory and potentially carcinogenic over time. So for me, this is going to be a once-in-a-blue-moon experience.
The restaurant itself is definitely a cut above most chicken joints. The food is generous in portion and cooked perfectly. Staff are friendly and helpful – although they were a little quick to take the order, but hey, that’s part of the fast-paced business.
One thing though – the music is a bit loud, clearly for the staff to enjoy, and the main entrance is placed in a way that lets a freezing southerly buster blast straight in. It hits both staff and customers hard. Definitely something to look at.
Prices are fair, and it’s just so nice to have a proper sit-down place like this so close to home. I can walk here, which is a big plus.
My recommendation to El Jannah: please reconsider your use of seed oils – there are better alternatives. And if possible, find a way to buffer that front door from the wind.
