El Jannah (Gungahlin) Chicken Shop

Our favorite grilled chicken place in Canberra. The chips are awesome, love the tabouli is really good. Garlic sauce and chilli sauce are excellent!

Best chicken and chips in Canberra ever!!! Especially for the Charcoal chicken. You must try! And the front stuff in Gungahlin is the best!

The charcoal chicken is on par with the El Jannah's in NSW. Really, really good chicken. Didn't taste much of the vinegar brine that usually goes with the charcoal chicken, but still very good.The chicken was not over charred or dry.The fried chicken was an interesting surprise. It was offered by Paradise Chicken, another charcoal chicken spot where one of the franchisee's fell out of flavour with the El Jannah's establishment. The location was in Marsden Park and they a very good, simple fried chicken.Unfortunately, the fried chicken is a different beast and not something that's to my palate nor that I would recommend unfortunately, stick with the tried and true charcoal chicken. If you're looking for fried chicken, Kingsley's is the way to go. It's KFC, but fresher, larger chooks and chips.Back to El Jannah's, you pay for what you get. Proper charcoal chicken, and proper chips with generous chicken salt. Really, really cannot recommend El Jannah's highly enough. There's only one El Jannah's in Canberra, so expect a wait, but it's well worth it. So good. Don't forget the Toum (Garlic Sauce)!

Lack of sitting space more so when the doors open in winter, the wind that comes in 🥶🥶🥶 other than that its good

Waited for the hype to die down, as its always very popular:) I always loved this "cult" fav in Sydney so fantastic its made it to Canberra. I find the store almost too "fast food" shiny but it doesnt take away from how delicious the food is - took my lil one here for the first time and he absolutely loved it. Had the Tawook meal which was juicy and yum, but the real win is going the charcoal chicken- it is soo tasty and the legendary garlic sauce lives up to expectations.
