El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd trading as El Jannah (ACN 607 919 326) and its related bodies and each of its independently owned franchisees (“El Jannah Franchisees”) (collectively referred to as “El Jannah”, “we”, “us” or “our”) recognise the importance of protecting the privacy and the rights of individuals in relation to their personal information and are committed to protecting the privacy of personal information in accordance with Australian privacy laws.
1.2 This Privacy Policy sets outs El Jannah’s approach to handling personal information and includes information on how we collect, manage and keep secure your personal information.
1.3 The scope of this Privacy Policy covers the personal information handling practices of restaurants owned by El Jannah in Australia and El Jannah Franchisees. El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd does not control the use, or disclosure of, personal information and may not have access to the personal information held by El Jannah Franchisees. El Jannah Franchisees are responsible for ensuring that your personal information collected by them is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Australian privacy laws.

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business functions and activities and to supply you with our products and services.
By acquiring or using an El Jannah product or service, you consent to El Jannah collecting, storing, using, maintaining and disclosing your personal information to the extent that it is reasonably necessary for us to provide that product or service to you.

We may also collect anonymous information regarding your interests, preferences, purchasing behaviour and experience with our services, together with any additional information necessary to deliver those services and respond to your enquiries.

We may also collect sensitive information about you such as information about your health (including anydisability) or any criminal record you may have, but only if you provide us consent to obtain such information.
10.3 We collect personal information for any one or more of the following purposes:
10.3.1 Assessing you for a position with Us or one of our related entities;
10.3.2 Storing your information for future employment opportunities.
If you do not provide Us with the information we request, we will be unable to do one or more of the above.
10.4 In order to assess you for a current or future position with Us, We may disclose your information to:
10.4.1 Referees or previous employers;
10.4.2 Recruitment agencies or agencies acting on our behalf;
10.4.3 Our related entities and El Jannah Franchisees;
10.4.4 Senior Employees or Managers of El Jannah stores in various locations; and
10.4.5 Law enforcement agencies to verify whether you have a criminal record. We may engage third party contractors to perform services for us which involves handling personal information. Should this occur, we will take reasonable steps to prevent the contractor from using the personal information except for the purpose for which it was supplied.
11. Franchisee Applications
11.1 Generally, the type of personal information that El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd collects about franchise applicants is the information included on the Franchise Application Form for example your name, postal address, telephone number, email address, education details, residency status, employment history, financial capacity and other information relating to your qualifications and experience. Should your application be successful, El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd will also obtain further information from you such as your bank account details for the purposes of monthly direct debits.
11.2 In considering your application, El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd may also obtain personal information about you from third parties, for example, from your previous employers or nominated referees. Subject to your consent, El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd may also collect sensitive information about you such as information about any criminal record you may have or your credit rating.
11.3 El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd collects personal information for any one or more of the following purposes:
11.3.1 Assessing your application to become an El Jannah Franchisee;
11.3.2 Assessing whether you are suitable to progress to each stage of El Jannah franchise recruitment process;
11.3.3 Storing your information for future franchise opportunities;
11.4 If you do not provide the information requested, El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd will be unable to do one or more of the above.
11.5 El Jannah Franchise Company Pty Ltd may disclose your information to:
11.5.1 Referees or previous employers;
11.5.2 Our related entities; and
11.5.3 Senior Employees or Managers of El Jannah stores in various locations; and
11.5.4 Law enforcement agencies to verify whether you have a criminal record. We may engage third party contractors to perform services for us which involves handling personal information.
